Today I just found a copy of Pathways into Darkness for windows and it is amazing. For those of you who don't know Pathways into Darkness was the first FPS created by Bungie ever. Pathways inspired Marathon also by Bungie and greatly affected how FPS's tell stories.
Now even though Pathways is only avaviable for mac the reason why I got Pathways working for windows is because Bungie released the source code for the sequel for Marathon, Marathon 2: Durandal, and a bunch of fan used the code to create an open source application with varying files capable of playing the entire Marathon Trilogy. A team of modders decided to port Pathways to the application called Aleph One.
Even though Pathways is not completely ported (its still in the beta stages), it is still worth getting this version, because unless you have a power mac, this is your only oppurtunity to play this amazing game. If you want to get it look for Marathon: Pathways into Darkness, its most likely the only way you can experience a huge step int video game story telling.

I, Robot and System Shock
The other day I was watching FX and they were playing I, Robot which I hadn't seen in a while which is why I was watching to begin with. About half-way through the movie I noticed that it was a lot like the game System Shock.
Both invole computer AI's going insane (I, Robot had the AI, VIKI, evolve around programming laws created to prevent such and event: while System Shock had a programmer remove the morality code from the AI SHODAN). Also both AI's were the hive mind like intelligence behind everything computerized in both worlds.
That was basically it which probably doesnt seem like a whole lot but watching the movie did make me want to play System Shock all over again, and if you havn't played you should definately go and get the game.
